Boston Celtics Receive: Jerami Grant

Detroit Pistons Receive: Marcus Smart, Carsen Edwards, Aaron Nesmith, 2021 1st Round Pick, 2023 1st Round Pick

Jerami Grant would be the lone name going to the Boston Celtics in this deal and would not be cheap given the start to the season he has had. His impressive start to the season has shown what he’s capable of achieving in a larger role after already being a valuable role player for years.

For the Celtics, it would be worth it in the long run as they attempt to move up the standing in a top-heavy Eastern Conference. The rest of the competition has strengthened since the end of last season while Boston has clearly regressed.

The return begins with Marcus Smart, who is a starting-caliber guard and would help the Pistons at the position. Carsen Edwards an Aaron Nesmith are two other players that would be going to Detroit, along with two first-round picks.

Let’s take a look at how this trade centered around Jerami Grant would benefit both the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons.
