Kyle Anderson – Memphis Grizzlies

Much like Kyle Lowry and Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson is a proven defender in the NBA and he’s been getting better and better as a legitimate two-way threat on the wing. Many believed that the Grizzlies overpaid Anderson when he signed with them ahead of the 2018-19 season, but each and every year he has improved and this season, he is having the best year of his career.

Kyle Anderson is currently averaging 12.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and is shooting 35.6% from three-point range. His all-around versatility and understanding of where to be on the court is what makes Kyle Anderson such a unique player and at just 27-years old, he is an experienced player who could make a difference in Orlando.

While he does not possess All-Star potential and will not be a 20+ points per game type of player, you know what you are getting with a guy like Kyle Anderson and he is a very consistent wing. He will score about 12-15 points per game, adding about 5-8 rebounds and 3-6 assists every night.

Kyle Anderson can provide the Magic with stability on the wing, something they have not had in years. Aaron Gordon was expected to be that wing/low-post player who could pick up a lot of the scoring load over the years for Orlando, but he is nothing more than a key role player for any team in the league.

While Anderson is also a role player, he is much more consistent and can be a great complementary player to Orlando’s All-Star, Nikola Vucevic. He is under contract this year and next year as well and is owed just over $19M through the 2021-22 season. Kyle Anderson is a very affordable trade target for the Magic and they would likely not have to give up as much as anticipated to acquire him from the Grizzlies.
