Go After Another Superstar Talent, No Matter The Cost

If there is one thing we know about Pat Riley and the Heat’s front-office, it is that they are always looking for ways to make their team better. Plenty of big name superstars have been mentioned in NBA trade rumors and the Miami Heat should do everything they can to trade for one of these guys.

Whether it is Zach LaVine, Bradley Beal or Victor Oladipo, the Heat have to be willing to trade some of their young talent and some draft picks to form a new “Big 3” in Miami. The last time the Heat had three All-Star caliber players, they went to four straight finals, winning two championships in the process.

Trading for another superstar level player would be a major addition for the Miami Heat in their efforts to get back to the NBA Finals because it gives them a solidified offensive talent. Jimmy Butler, when fully healthy, is the only reliable scorer on this team and while Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson and Bam Adebayo all have their moments, they are still young players who are growing.

Out of all three of these All-Star level players mentioned above, Bradley Beal makes the most sense for the Heat, but they would have to give up a lot in order to get him. Acquiring Bradley Beal may mean parting ways with guys like Tyler Herro, Kendrick Nunn, Kelly Olynyk and a bunch of first-round draft picks, which could hurt the Heat’s bench drastically.

Overall though, with the talents that are on some of the other contending teams in the East, the Miami Heat do not have the firepower to keep up with teams like the 76ers, Nets and Bucks, which is why they need that third All-Star talent. Forming a new “Big 3” gives the Heat the best chance to not only make it back to the NBA Finals this season, but potentially win their fourth championship in team history.
