Why This Trade Would Benefit The Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets got a chance to show just how good they were a season ago. They are just 13-11 this season but there is no doubt that they are contenders in the Western Conference.
Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are off to good starts once again but could use another piece. This is especially true since Jerami Grant signed with the Detroit Pistons in free agency.
Jokic is averaging 27.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and8.5 assists per game as he is looking like the MVP of the league thus far. Murray is running the offense well and contributing 18.6 points per game. Michael Porter Jr. and Will Barton are the next leading scorers on the roster.
There is clear need for a third star for the Nuggets to be able to be able to take on elite contending teams. Zach LaVine is a player who knows how to play his role with other stars in the lineup. LaVine can take over a game offensively or contribute in other ways alongside Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.
This big three would become one of the best in the conference. After a Western Conference Finals appearance, the Nuggets have a chance to make a big-splash move at the NBA trade deadline. This would show that they believe they can win now and compete with the top teams in the league.
