Why This Trade Would Benefit The Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics are a win-now team in the Eastern Conference. Despite new additions on teams like the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers, Boston still has one of the best duos in the league. Now, it is about putting the right players in depth with this duo.
That is exactly what this trade would do. It is no secret that Boston’s slow start is due to their lack of fire power outside of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Aaron Gordon is a true two-way player who is only improving on the offensive end. Meanwhile, Evan Fournier is already there.
Evan Fournier can serve as a spot-up shooter from three-point range or create his own shot off the dribble. This move will give the Celtics two guards that are ready to start and play valuable minutes for a contending team. He could fit in better than this version of Kemba Walker who is finding his form.
This may not help the frontcourt of the Celtics but it would impact the team in many ways immediately. There is still time to improve down low if they get a chance. Danny Ainge will do what is best for the team and it will be hard to argue with any move he makes.
