Why This Trade Would Benefit The Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors made it a priority in the offseason to sign Fred VanVleet. They were able to come to terms on a four-year deal that will make him the franchise’s new centerpiece. VanVleet and Pascal Siakam lead the way for Toronto now and Kyle Lowry could be on his way out.

The Eastern Conference is very top heavy and the Raptors have been apart of that for years now. This season, teams like Philadephia and the Brooklyn Nets have made vast improvements.

The Raptors have been inconsistent and fell behind a bit thus far. Because of the current state of the bottom of the conference, the Raptors have been able to hang around. Both Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam are scoring 20 points per contest.

This deal would land the team a third option on the offensive end and one that is off to a raging hot start. This move would go towards helping the team improve down the stretch of the season.

The Raptors have been one of the top teams in the league for the last two years. That is not the case this season and that could push the team in a different direction moving forward.
