Why This Trade Would Benefit The Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are looking like the real deal this season and their fans should be excited. Joel Embiid is playing at an MVP level and the team is currently scoring 114.3 points per game while shooting 47.8% from the field.
When Daryl Morey and Doc Rivers took over control, they made it clear that they did not want to trade Ben Simmons or Joel Embiid. This meant that anyone else could be on the block. This includes Tobias Harris. He is off to a hot start this season and Philadelphia could look to take advantage. The Sixers were quick to dump Al Horford’s contract in the offseason and this landed them Green.
It was mentioned in NBA trade rumors that they wanted to do the same with Tobias Harris but nothing has happened just yet. This is a chance for them to take advantage of his start and add an elite point guard with great experience in the postseason.
Kyle Lowry would bring a new dynamic to the Sixers along with Simmons. This would allow Simmons to play off the ball while Lowry poses a threat from three-point range. Philadelphia is currently 15th in the league shooting 36.3% from three-point range.
It might seem strange timing to send Tobias Harris away when the team is in first place in the conference but this would help the team in more ways than one. They would acquire an All-Star caliber point guard while clearing some cap space that could be used elsewhere.
