Why This Trade Would Benefit The Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are back in the postseason race in a very difficult Western Conference. This is because of the superman efforts they have been getting from Steph Curry on a nightly basis.

Teams have been throwing double and triple teams at Steph Curry all throughout the beginning of the season. If they want to slow this down, Golden State will have to acquire another big-name player. Kristaps Porzingis would add a great dynamic to the Warriors and has the type of skill-set to keep a defense honest.

Since returning from injury, Kristaps Porzingis is averaging 20 points per game and shooting 46% from the field. At 7-foot-3, Porzingis has the skillset of a guard but his size has also caused him to struggle with health.

Porzingis has spent some time on the injured list. If he is able to remain on the floor, he is just the type of player that the Warriors need. He provides an intriguing combination of perimeter shooting, interior play finishing, and shot blocking.

Steph Curry and Kristaps Porzingis would be able to do plenty of good on the floor. This would create an elite pick-and-roll duo and one that can convert alley-oops above the rim. The shooting gravity of both players would force defenses to make tough decisions in pindowns and other off-ball sequences, too.

Showtime would be back in Golden State if this deal is made and the Warriors would quickly climb up the standings. They would be very well equipped to emerge as an elite contender when Klay Thompson is able to recover from injury and return to the lineup.
