Why This Trade Would Benefit The Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers enter the offseason riding high from a relatively stress-free postseason run. LeBron James and Anthony Davis were on a tear in the bubble and are continuing that during the early part of the season. Los Angeles is once again near the top of the Western Conference and that is a position they are going to stay.
If there was one area that the Lakers were average, it was on the perimeter. This season, they are shooting well for three-point range but could look to improve the point guard position even further. This is a win-now team with hopes of contending for years to come and that is where Kyle Lowry would come in to play.
Kyle Lowry is a veteran point guard but is still playing the game at a high-level from all over the floor. This would create a bit of a big three in Los Angeles along with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, which is something that they have shown interest in creating.
The Lakers do not need to make another move but if they do, they could surprise everyone and call Toronto for their point guard. It would not be surprising to see Los Angeles and another big name player in some type of way at the NBA trade deadline.
