Nuggets Need To Fill The Void Jerami Grant Left Behind

Many believed Jerami Grant was a really solid player, but nobody knew he could be an All-Star level talent like he has proven to be in Detroit this season. With the Nuggets, Grant was a double-digit scorer and a key role player on the wing on both ends of the court.

He showed glimpses into his full potential last year, but absolutely nobody saw him having a breakout season like he is with the Pistons. He has elevated his game to a whole new level and as a result, the move by Denver not to re-sign him this past offseason is looking worse and worse every day.

The void Jerami Grant has left behind with this roster is definitely going to be hard to replace, but the Nuggets are going to have to figure something out quickly if they are going to get back to being one of the top teams in the West.

Michael Porter Jr. will likely figure things out within the next month or so and get back to being that dynamic third scoring option this team so desperately needs, but having reliable role players around their core is just as important. This is why adding Aaron Gordon would have a huge impact on this team.

Aaron Gordon has proven to be a very versatile offensive weapon and he has thrived over the course of his career when he is not depended on to be a primary scorer. With all of the injuries the Magic have faced this year, Gordon has been leaned upon to produce more than he usually does on the offensive end of the court, which is why he has struggled at times this year.

In Denver, with plenty of scorers around him, Aaron Gordon could do what he does best, which is attack teams in transition and being a key contributor in any rotation. He could even come off-the-bench for the Nuggets, giving them a really strong second-unit.

The Nuggets are a much better team than their record says they are and they have the talent to back that up. With one of the best players in the entire NBA, some emerging young talents and plenty of depth on their bench, the only thing this team needs is another reliable scoring option, which is exactly the kind of the player Aaron Gordon is.
