Why This Trade Would Benefit The Golden State Warriors
There’s no secret how the Golden State Warriors built their championship teams on their ability from the three-point line. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are all-time shooters that lead Golden State to great success over the years. Coming into the season that success was supposed to be duplicated until Klay Thompson went down.
Now, the Western Conference has improved with both teams out in Los Angeles and the Denver Nuggets. The Warriors have an interestingly constructed lineup with athletes who are not the best shooters. This includes Oubre Jr. and Andrew Wiggins.
Draymond Green has been viewed as an extremely important player over the years but he would have to be on the move for a player like DeMar DeRozan. He is still one of the best mid-range threats in the game and would give the Warriors a new partner in crime next to Steph Curry.
DeMar DeRozan is in the final year of his deal is $27.7 million. This gives the Warriors a bridge until Thompson returns next season. They will have the entire offseason to decide what they want to do with DeRozan.
