The Chicago Bulls brought in a new head coach in Billy Donovan and could now be looking to add some depth to the point guard position. The Minnesota Timberwolves are a team that could help. Two rebuilding teams could look to get together for a trade that would help both sides.
Chicago has been mentioned in NBA trade rumors surrounding their big names all throughout the offseason but the noise has quieted. Instead, they’ve been linked to adding a facilitator like Lonzo Ball. As we continue through the early part of the schedule, both Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen are still in place.
The Bulls front office has some decisions to make with those players but could look elsewhere for now. Chicago has little to no depth at point guard. Coby White is manning the position but that is it as far as depth. They need a veteran option at the top of the offense. This is where the Timberwolves come into play.
The Timberwolves have a loaded perimeter between D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, and Anthony Edwards. Minnesota has the option to put one of their pieces at point guard and use Ricky Rubio as a trade piece ahead of the NBA trade deadline.
This would give the Bulls some depth at a position where they really need some. This is a particular deal that both sides might agree to.
