Kristaps Porzingis Needs To Step Up

Kristaps Porzingis is one of the main focal points of the Dallas starting rotation, but his early season injuries have kept him off the court more so than on it. Porzingis is one of the best power forwards and centers in the NBA, but he’s struggled to help the team win basketball games in 2021.

Porzingis has looked okay on paper, but it’s evident that he’s not the dominant power forward he usually is. Porzingis is experiencing a career low 31.3 three point field goal percentage and his defense has taken a major step down in 2021.

Without Porzingis being quite the threat he was last season, the Mavericks lack the supporting cast impact they need alongside Luka Doncic. Waiting for that to change without making a move at the NBA trade deadline could prove to be a mistake.

If the Dallas Mavericks are going to bounce back in 2021, they’ll need to rely on their star veterans to get back on track. Kristaps Porzingis is no exception to the pool of players who need to regain their potential, and he needs to do it quickly in hopes of the team winning games this season.
