Why This Trade Would Benefit The Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks got a taste of the postseason last year in the bubble as the seven seed. They were able to pickup two wins over the Los Angeles Clippers, including one that came on a Luka Doncic game-winner.
This season, the Mavericks were hoping to return and become a staple in the playoffs. So far, they have had a tough time trying to perservere through many players being included in COVID protocols.
Luka Doncic is an early-season MVP candidate averaging 27.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per game. The scary thing is that he has not even reached his full potential. The Mavericks could look to shake things up. They are currently 9-13 on the season.
Kristaps Porzingis has played 11 games and is averaging 19.1 points per game. He has played well since returning from injury but this is something that has plagued him over the course of his career. The Knicks did not trade him because of injury but the Mavericks could choose to.
Mark Cuban is an owner who likes to win and is not afraid to make the big move. The duo of Luka Doncic and Karl-Anthony Towns would be one that could lead Dallas for a long time.
