Why This Trade Would Benefit The Charlotte Hornets
When the Hornets were on the clock with the third-overall pick in the draft, they went with the best available player. LaMelo Ball is looking like the right pick early on. This move impacted the team in more ways than one. Aside from adding a future star, Charlotte could now make a move that involves sending a guard away.
Devonte’ Graham would be the odd man out in this deal. The return for Charlotte could help right away. The Hornets struggle down low and it will only get worse. Cody Zeller is in the final year of his contract and will not be back next season. This is where Willie Cauley-Stein would impact the team immediately.
Dorian Finney-Smith is another player who can contribute consistently. Charlotte should be aggressive at the NBA trade deadline in hopes of balancing the rotation on both ends of the floor. This is what this particular deal would accomplish.
