PJ Tucker Is A Great “Do-It-All” Complementary Player
We briefly mentioned it before, but PJ Tucker is a lot like Draymond Green in the sense that he does not really have a position on the court. He can handle the ball, he can pass, he can rebound, he can defend and he can knock down shots from the perimeter when needed.
As a matter of fact, PJ Tucker has been one of the most deadly corner-three shooters over the last several seasons and as a result, he could be a weapon the Lakers utilize on offense. He does not draw a lot of attention to himself on the offensive-end of the court and with bigger problems to worry about in LeBron James and Anthony Davis, teams will not be focused on three-point shooters like KCP and Tucker in opposite corners, leading to wide open shots from the perimeter.
That “do-it-all” mentality that PJ Tucker possesses is extremely valuable not just to the Lakers, but any team who would be lucky enough to land the veteran forward. By himself, Tucker is able to somewhat control the pace of the game and as a result, he is able to set his team up for a lot of success.
With the Lakers already playing a brand of “position-less” basketball, it makes a ton of sense for them to add a player like PJ Tucker because of his work ethic. He knows what it takes to win and with Tucker willing to take on any role to ensure that his team has the best chance to win, the Lakers would have everything they need to make it back to the NBA Finals this season.
