PJ Tucker Has A Very High Basketball IQ & Plays At 110%
One thing that makes PJ Tucker is so unique that while he is not much of a producer on the offensive-end of the court, as he has averaged 7.3 points per game for his career, he does all the little things to make his team efficient.
Whether it is making the extra pass or fighting for an offensive rebound for second-chance opportunities, PJ Tucker is a pest for any team that has to face him because he is always giving it his all out there on the court. Whether you are LeBron James or an end of the bench player, PJ Tucker does not care and is always pushing himself to give more effort than his opponents.
That will and strive to be great is what makes Tucker very valuable and is why he has earned the role he has in the league. The Rockets would not have made their deep playoff runs over the years without Tucker’s grit and without his high basketball IQ.
He just understands the game better than most players and seems to have an idea about the way the game is going on both ends of the court. He is always in the right spot on the defensive end of the court and always finds himself in the corner for a wide-open three on the offensive end of the court.
If the Lakers were to acquire him, Tucker would probably join this team and immediately be their second smartest player on the court outside of LeBron James. Tucker just has that natural understanding of the game that you cannot teach to a player, which is why he would be such a valuable asset to the Lakers in their championship pursuit.
