Why This Trade Would Benefit The Boston Celtics
The Eastern Conference is extremely top-heavy this season. The Celtics are one of those teams but are not looking like the favorites early on. This is where they could look to add some pieces around Jayson Tatum and Jaylon Brown.
They have been the clear-cut leaders of the offense this season and would benefit from some more help in the form of secondary players. This is the perfect role for Marcus Morris Sr. He is providing 11.1 point per game for the Clippers off the bench this season.
Morris is a capable three-point shooter and someone who knows how to play alongside other stars. In fact, he already has experience directly playing with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown from his previous two-season stint with the Celtics.
The point guard depth would immediately trend in the right direction with these additions. A deal such as this one is also contingent on if the Celtics want to part ways with Walker. This has been a rumor over the first few weeks so nothing is off the table.
The Celtics are one of the most storied franchises in the league. They have a history of winning and would like to add to that total. It will take some doing in a top-heavy, but improved conference in the Eastern Conference.
