3 trade packages to send John Collins to Boston Celtics

Since Lloyd Pierce became the head coach of the Hawks, this organization has not eclipsed 29 wins in a season, but as of right now, the Hawks are projected to make it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Trae Young has continued to grow into an NBA superstar and with plenty of other younger talents coming into their own, the Hawks have a chance to be special for many years to come.

A large part of why they have a chance to be special is because of John Collins. Trae Young is the most talked about Hawks player because of his elite three-point shooting skills and ability to rack up assists, but John Collins is one of the best players in the NBA under the age of 24.

Since entering the NBA in 2017, he has always been undervalued, but always displayed a level of athleticism that was way above average for a low-post player. Not only does he play well above the rim, but he has elite scoring tendencies and is able to blend his athleticism with his strength to punish weaker defenders anywhere on the court.

With Trae Young and John Collins as the two scoring leaders of this franchise, Atlanta definitely has a real shot at making the playoffs this season, but is this their ceiling? The Hawks have a really solid team with plenty of contributors, but are they really a threat in the Eastern Conference?

This past offseason, John Collins declined to agree to a $90M contract extension with the Hawks, leading to a bunch of rumors that he may be unsettled in Atlanta. With plenty of rumors circulating around his future and the Hawks being an up-and-down team this season, could they look to move their young forward now while his value is at an all-time high?

Let’s take a look at what the Boston Celtics could offer up to the Atlanta Hawks in three different trade packages in  exchange for John Collins.
