One of the biggest needs for the Boston Celtics over the years has been in their frontcourt, as they have not had a reliable big man they could lean on since Kevin Garnett. This offseason, they signed Tristan Thompson and he has been solid for them, but bringing in Nikola Vucevic would be a game-changer for this organization as they look to make it back to their first NBA Finals since 2010.

While his contract would be tough for the Celtics to bring in, they could possibly make it work if they are willing to pay some taxes on this team to be a championship contender. Marcus Smart would definitely have to be on the move to make the money work in this deal, but bringing in an All-Star center could be what this team needs to win a championship.

With Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker at full strength for the Celtics, this team is already a championship caliber team and adding an All-Star center like Vucevic would make for a very intriguing 7-game series with the Nets, Bucks and even the 76ers.

It is no secret that the Boston Celtics have problems on their bench in terms of having lack of production, which could make them hesitant to give up any bench players in the first place, but getting the opportunity to acquire Vucevic from the Magic may be too good of an opportunity to pass up on.

Paying some extra tax money to have Walker, Tatum, Brown and Vucevic together fighting for a championship is well worth it for Celtics’ ownership and acquiring the former All-Star center would definitely present them with the best chance to win a title this season.

As things stand right now, this Celtics team should be able to make a run to the Eastern Conference Semifinals again, but they may not have the firepower to beat a team like the Nets, Bucks or 76ers.
