Why This Trade Would Benefit The Boston Celtics
The Brooklyn Nets made a move for James Harden while the Philadelphia 76ers are looking like the real deal in the Eastern Conference. The Boston Celtics once again one of the top teams in the league but might have to make a blockbuster deal at the NBA trade deadline to keep up.
De’Aaron Fox could be an intriguing option for the Celtics to make a run at when surveying their potions. He is in the midst of an All-Star season averaging 22.3 points and 6.6 assists per game for the Sacramento Kings.
It’s easy to see the improvement that De’Aaron Fox has made each season throughout his NBA career. At just 23-years-old, he would fit the timeline of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown perfectly as a long-term, dynamic answer to the point guard position.
It’s not just age that makes the case for De’Aaron Fox. He’s an ultra-quick lane penetration threat that can also run a half-court offense to create favorable shots for teammates. This would help to take pressure off Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum in big moments.
Harrison Barnes would be a veteran voice on and off the floor that could help come postseason time. He would provide needed size on the wing along with his perimeter shooting and defensive versatility abilities.
The Celtics were eliminated in Eastern Conference Finals a season ago. They are looking to make sure that does not happen this season and this trade would go along way.
