Cedi Osman – Cleveland Cavaliers
Cedi Osman signed a contract-extension with the Cavaliers last season, keeping him under contract fully-guaranteed through the 2022-23 season and non-guaranteed in the final year of his contract for the 2023-24 season. At just 25-years old, Osman could be a great fit with the Raptors and give them the production they need on the wing moving forward.
Since LeBron James left the Cavaliers for the Lakers ahead of the 2018-19 season, Cedi Osman has stepped into a bigger role with Cleveland and has not disappointed. Since the start of the 2018-19 season, Osman is averaging 12.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and is shooting 36.4% from three-point range.
His overall playmaking abilities on the offensive end of the court and his understanding on where to be and where to find his teammates is what makes Cedi Osman such an interesting player and an intriguing trade target for the Raptors. A lot of the trade buzz for the Cavs is circulating around their frontcourt with Kevin Love and Andre Drummond, but Cedi Osman is very much in play to be traded near the deadline, especially with the emergence of rookie Isaac Okoro.
While they have O.G. Anunoby on the wing, along with Norman Powell, Toronto could benefit from having a scorer like Osman come off-the-bench and be one of their main scorers in the second-unit. With the struggles Toronto’s bench has had this season, it makes perfect sense for them to want to target a versatile wing, which is why Cedi Osman is one of the top trade targets for the Raptors ahead of the NBA trade deadline.
