Why This Trade Would Benefit The Los Angeles Lakers

As if the Los Angeles Lakers need anything else to get excited about. This trade would excite fans every night because of the relationship between LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. The Lakers do not need to make this trade to win another championship but it definitely could not hurt.

If there was one area the Lakers are average, it is on the perimeter. They made a trade for Dennis Schroder in the offseason in hopes of improving the point guard position. Montrezl Harrell has taken the frontcourt to the next level but they could still use some threats from mid range and three-point territory.

Carmelo Anthony can still shoot the ball at a high rate and provide another reliable scoring option when the Lakers need a bucket in crucial moments. He would be needed as a complementary option alongside Anthony Davis and LeBron James that can help pick on favorable matchups.

The Lakers could create another great storyline if Carmelo Anthony is brought to town to help them win their second straight title with LeBron James and Anthony Davis at the helm. It will be interesting to see if Portland pulls the trigger on a trade if the Lakers are in.
