The New Orleans Pelicans are off to a tough start as a team this season. They are not a playoff team in the Western Conference which means they have plenty of work to do. The conference is only getting better and this trade with certainly improve New Orleans right away.

Despite the lack of team success, both Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram are performing at a high-level. This gives the team hope for the future but it is time to build around them. Kristaps Porzingis would balance the floor and bring a new dynamic to the offense.

The Pelicans would have to part ways with some draft capital but their roster would remain intact. The players they would have to give up our ones that will be moved at the NBA trade deadline at some point.
