3 intriguing future trade targets for the Utah Jazz to monitor

After a disappointing exit in the first-round of the playoff last year after being up in the series against the Denver Nuggets three games to one, the Utah Jazz pretty much brought back their entire roster from last season and added Derrick Favors. With a lot to prove to the rest of the league and some emerging talent, the Jazz have shocked the NBA this season and are currently atop the standings in the league.

The Jazz have now won 12 of their last 13 games and they set a new NBA record for the Most Three-Pointers Made in a Calendar Month with 285 made threes. This team is the best perimeter shooting team in the entire league and are currently averaging 16.9 made three-pointers per game.

With Donovan Mitchell emerging as a true superstar talent for them, Jordan Clarkson being the clear front-runner for Sixth-Man of the Year and Rudy Gobert continuing to be in the conversation for Defensive Player of the Year, there is no telling how far this year’s Utah team can go, but through a quarter of the season, it is clear that they have solidified themselves as one of the teams to beat.

With six players averaging double-digit scoring, it is really hard to contain and slow this Jazz team down on the offensive end of the court because of how many weapons they have. It’s not just Donovan Mitchell trying to do it all. They can go 9 to 10 guys deep in their rotation and with plenty of firepower from the perimeter, the Jazz can beat any team in the league.

The Utah Jazz have come a long way since being mentioned in NBA trade rumors back in March due to the alleged deterioration in the relationship that Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert have with each other. That is long in the past with both players signed to long-term deals. The team has fired on all cylinders ever since.

While they have plenty of depth, the Jazz could still look to make one or two more moves before the NBA trade deadline to solidify themselves as true championship contenders. Given their “3-and-D” philosophy in Utah, let’s take a look at three players that could make a lot of sense for the Jazz to target.
