This Knicks-Timberwolves trade gives Ricky Rubio a fresh start in N.Y.

The New York Knicks are off to a surprising start this NBA season. They have looked like a fringe playoff team, even though it is only a matter of time before it evens out. If they want to avoid the collapses that has happened year and if year out, the team should look for a option at the point guard position.

This is something that the Knicks have not had for many years. Elfrid Payton is currently their starting point guard with rookie Immanuel Quickley coming off the bench. New York is being led by Julius Randle, who is having an NBA All-Star caliber season to this point.

RJ Barrett is coming into his own in his second NBA seasib despite his lack of ability to shoot the ball. The Knicks have some interesting young players on the team but need to add a star and improve the point guard position if they want to be taken seriously.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are another team with a lot of work to do. They currently sit in the basement of the Eastern Conference through the first few weeks of the season. Karl-Anthony Towns has missed time with an injury and there is no sign of him being back soon.

Minnesota has a few veteran players on the roster that could be moved at the deadline and it begins with Ricky Rubio. The fit in New York for Rubio is intriguing enough to think about a potential deal.

There are pieces on both sides that could be moved as we creep closer to the trade deadline. Let’s take a look at a potential deal between New York and Minnesota.
