The Los Angeles Clippers are definitely a playoff team once again in the Western Conference, the only question that remains is how far this team can actually go. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have been carrying this team to challenge the Lakers and Jazz for the top-seed in the West early on in the year, but with the lack of production outside of these two, is it fair to call the Clippers a true NBA title contender?

Not to talk down on Kawhi Leonard or Paul George, because they are fantastic players, but in a loaded Western Conference with plenty of contending teams, this team’s overall lack of production could end up hurting them. Lou Williams has struggled to produce this season off-the-bench and both Luke Kennard and Patrick Beverley have been disappointing on the offensive end of the court this year.

Serge Ibaka, Marcus Morris Sr. and Nicolas Batum are all averaging over 10 points per game early on in the year, but they are all streaky in terms of offensive production as well. There are holes on this team that need to be filled in order for them to be true title contenders, especially after losing the production of JaMychal Green and Montrezl Harrell. 

Luckily, there are plenty of affordable, high-level talents available on the trade market for the Clippers. The only question is if they are willing to “pay the price” to land some of these bigger named guys.
