This Magic-Nets trade features Aaron Gordon to Brooklyn

The Nets made one of the biggest trades in NBA history earlier this season when they traded away Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen, Taurean Prince, and virtually every first-round pick they owed in exchange for the former league MVP, James Harden. Now, Brooklyn has a “Big 3” with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, and all three of them only have one thing on their minds – championship or bust.

Entering the season, the Brooklyn Nets were one of the favorites to contend for a championship with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving healthy, but it was the supporting cast that filled out the rest of this team that made them a heavy betting favorite. Guys like Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen, Jeff Green and Taurean Prince all were key role players for Brooklyn last season and entering the year, had a lot of expectations on them to be great off-the-bench.

Now, Jeff Green is the only player left from that group of role players and the Nets have a depth and defense problem on their hands. Brooklyn is near the bottom of the league in opponent’s points per game, giving up about 116.2 points a contest, and their philosophy is to just straight up score more points than their opponents.

The other night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Nets put their theory to good use and scored 147 points in the win. Not to mention, they scored 147 points without Kevin Durant, one of the most dynamic scorers in NBA history!

This team has a legit shot to dethrone the Lakers and win the NBA Finals this season with the roster they currently have, but they may not be done adding talent. With Spencer Dinwiddie being out for the year and being owed close to $11.4M, Brooklyn could very much look to trade him to ensure championship success.

Let’s take a look at a potential trade between the Nets and the Magic that would send Spencer Dinwiddie and some other assets to Orlando in exchange for a dynamic and athletic big man.
