Why This Trade Would Benefit The Orlando Magic

The Magic are on the opposite end of this deal for Mo Bamba than the Lakers. They are a team that needs to acquire assets and they could get that for a player like Bamba. If a deal of this kind were to be on the table involving players who are ready to contribute, the Magic should pull the trigger.

The Magic drafted Mo Bamba and he has been underwhelming over the beginning of his career. There have been underlying factors beyond his control, to be fair, but regardless, his time may have run out in Orlando. Both sides here could benefit from a change of scenery.

If the Magic are getting players like Alex Caruso and Talen Horton-Tucker along with draft capital, this deal seems like a no-brainer. Orlando will be able to keep their stars together and put strong role players and bench pieces around them.

For the Magic, this is about potentially moving up in the standing so they have a chance to win a first-round series. They have been getting knocked out by the top seat over the last couple years and that is something they are trying to change.
