Miami Heat Receive: G Lou Williams, ATL 2022 2nd Round Pick (via LAC), LAC 2023 2nd Round Pick

The 3x Sixth Man of the Year is now 34-years old and given that the Clippers do not have virtually any opportunities to add young talent over the next few years, they could be very willing to make this trade with the Heat.

Now in his 16th season in the league, Lou Williams not only has a few more years left of playing, but he has not been much of a contributor to the Clippers, as he is averaging just 8.8 points, 2.7 assists and shooting 35.1% from three-point range. His overall production is down and his minutes are down as well, which could mean the Clippers will look to trade him near the NBA trade deadline.

Last season, Kendrick Nunn finished second in the Rookie of the Year voting, trailing the award recipient, Ja Morant and finishing in front of last year’s first overall pick, Zion Williamson. In his “rookie season,” Nunn averaged 15.3 points, 3.3 assists and shot 43.9% from the floor and 35% from three-point range.

While he is still growing as a player, Nunn has proven that he has the potential to be a franchise point guard and with veteran, experienced guys around him like Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Patrick Beverley, Nunn could be set up for a lot of success in L.A.

Maurice Harkless is now 27-years old and has not received a lot of respect over the years. While he is not much of a factor on the offensive end of the court, only averaging about 7.1 points per game over the course of his career and shooting 47.8% from the floor, Mo Harkless is a great perimeter defender and a key bench contributor when given opportunities.

Overall, it seems crazy to think the Heat should trade Kendrick Nunn, but Lou Williams could ultimately be the missing bench player they need to have a legit chance to make it back to the NBA Finals and contend for a title. With that being said, let’s take a closer look as to why this trade makes sense for both the Clippers and the Heat.
