3 intriguing trade targets for Atlanta Hawks in the future

After three straight NBA seasons with less than 30-wins, the Atlanta Hawks are ready to flip the script and put together their first winning season since the last time they made the playoffs in 2017. While Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari, the Hawks’ two biggest offseason additions, have been sidelined with injuries, this highly-talented and young Hawks team looks like they are a legit threat in the Eastern Conference.

So far this year, Trae Young and his squad are 10-9 and definitely a team to keep your eyes on throughout the season, especially when they get Bogdanovic and Gallinari back on the court. Entering the 2020-21 NBA season, both Trae Young and John Collins were the only two known threats on this team, but other players have stepped into bigger roles and have really bolstered this Hawks roster.

Second-year forward DeAndre Hunter, third-year guard Kevin Huerter and veteran Clint Capela have been huge x-factors for Atlanta this year and have all contributed in different ways. Hunter has emerged as one of the better two-way players on the Hawks this year and has really contributed on the offensive end of the court, averaging about 17.2 points per game.

Kevin Huerter is more of a three-point specialist than anything else and has solidified himself as a legit three-point threat in the league. After not playing for the Hawks after being traded to them last year, Clint Capela has been huge for Atlanta this year and has been one of the better big men in the league this year.

Not long ago, Capela went for 27 points and grabbed a career-high 26 rebounds against the Detroit Pistons. If he can continue to have games like this, there is no reason why this Atlanta Hawks team will not be in the playoffs.

All-around, there is plenty of talent on this roster and when they are able to get their two offseason additions back in Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari, there is no telling what this team can achieve. Moving forward, this Hawks team is going to be extremely dangerous, but they could look to add some more talent down-the-road to pair with Trae Young.

Whether it be near the NBA trade deadline or during the next offseason, here are three intriguing trade targets the Atlanta Hawks should target in the future.
