This Nets-Suns blockbuster trade features Kyrie Irving to Phoenix

These two teams are no strangers to blockbuster deals. As we creep closer to the NBA trade deadline, it would not be surprising to see either the Phoenix Suns or Brooklyn Nets make a deal of any kind. Here, they would have a chance to team up for a big splash.

The Nets are at full strength with their big three leading the way. Kevin Durant leads the team with 30.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per contest. He has been back to his old self after coming back from a torn Achilles. Kyrie Irving is back on the floor and playing effectively while James Harden has fit into the offense seamlessly.

As if that wasn’t enough already, the Nets took it a step even further by acquiring James Harden from the Houston Rockets in a big-splash deal. Could Kevin Durant and Harden be enough? Could Brooklyn benefit from moving on from the least reliable of the three for depth to bolster the supporting cast?

In Phoenix, the Suns are looking to make their way back to the postseason. This would be the first time that they get there with Devin Booker on the roster. Phoenix is currently 8-8 in a very difficult Western Conference. Booker is having another good start averaging 22.9 points per game.

In the offseason, the Suns traded for Chris Paul and he is totaling 14.9 points and 8.8 assists per game. Phoenix has built a team that they feel good about it but could choose to shake things up a bit.

This trade would feature two all-star point guard switching sides. There are many positives and negatives to this deal for both sides. Let’s take a look and see what a blockbuster between the Nets and Suns might look like.
