3 intriguing trade targets for Houston Rockets at deadline

The Houston Rockets have been a team in the news for months now and while they were a part of the biggest trade of the offseason, sending Russell Westbrook to the Washington Wizards for John Wall, they found themselves a part of one of the biggest trades in NBA history earlier this month — sending James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets.

Houston finally granted James Harden his wish of being traded to the Nets and sent him to Brooklyn in a multi-team deal in exchange for four first-round picks (Nets 2022, 2024, 2026; Bucks 2022), four first-round pick swaps from the Nets in 2021, 2023, 2025 and 2027, Caris LeVert, Dante Exum and Rodions Kurucs.

Then, the Rockets flipped the script on Caris LeVert and traded him and a future second-round pick to the Indiana Pacers for former All-Star guard, Victor Oladipo. Houston now enters what they hope to be a quick rebuild, with a lot of former star talent.

John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, and now Victor Oladipo are all in Houston and while they each were All-Stars earlier in their careers, they are not the same players anymore after significant injuries. Christian Wood’s emergence has been huge for Houston and if they can go out and make another big move near the NBA trade deadline, they could set themselves up for a lot of success in the post-Harden era.

Let’s take a look at three intriguing future trade targets for the Houston Rockets as the NBA trade deadline continues to inch closer.
