Why This Trade Would Benefit The Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are 8-9 this season and being led by their dynamic duo along with Tim Hardaway Jr. They have playoff aspirations this season and feel like they are ready to compete in the Western Conference. There was a feeling that the front office would be interesting in adding another star prior to the NBA trade deadline.

This is where Kyle Lowry could come into play. The Mavericks’ backcourt has some depth with Hardaway Jr. and Brunson along with Luka Doncic. There are some assets that would be able to be sent away. In usual NBA trade rumors involving the Mavericks, Hardaway Jr. is the player being sent away in the deal.

Hardaway Jr. is their biggest trade piece because of his ability on the offensive end. If the Mavericks were able to hold onto him in this particular trade, that is a huge benefit. Also, Lowry would take over the point guard position and allow Doncic to play wherever he wants on the floor.

Lowry is a winning player with plenty of experience in the postseason. With a young team like the Mavericks, Lowry’s leadership would go a long way over the course of a season and come playoff time.
