3 perfect trade destinations for Cavaliers center Andre Drummond

Charlotte Hornets, Gordon Hayward, NBA Rumors

Trading for Andre Drummond would prove to be very beneficial to the Charlotte Hornets for a handful of reasons. Not to mention, Charlotte is a team who put in a lot of effort to improve their team this offseason and look to make a push to make the NBA Playoffs in the Eastern Conference.

Cody Zeller is not the long-term answer for the Hornets at center and with young forward P.J. Washington starting to come into his own, Andre Drummond would be a perfect addition to the Hornets frontcourt. Charlotte is one of the worst interior-scoring teams in the league and they are a middle-of-the-pack rebounding team, two areas in which Drummond could elevate.

In Charlotte, Drummond would not have to change his play-style, as he is a traditional, low-post big man and that is what the Hornets prefer in their system. With Gordon Hayward commanding this team, the former All-Star big man would also not have to carry all the offensive weight on his shoulders.

The Hornets would be a very ideal landing spot for Andre Drummond because of all the young pieces they would have around him. Devonte’ Graham, Miles Bridges, P.J. Washington and LaMelo Ball are all really solid young players who all have set roles and next to Gordon Hayward, Drummond could really thrive being a double-double machine.

Not to mention, the Hornets would love to add a center of Drummond’s caliber because of the upside he brings to the table. This is a young team looking to make the playoffs this year and after making some big moves this past offseason, this move would solidify their status in the Eastern Conference.

If the Hornets land Andre Drummond, they will definitely be either the 7-seed or 8-seed in the Eastern Conference and definitely not be an easy team to beat late in the year.
