Eric Gordon

With the Houston Rockets trading away both Russell Westbrook and James Harden, it is clear that this organization is looking to rebuild and as a result, they could be very willing to listen to offers for Eric Gordon near the trade deadline this season. While he signed a four-year contract extension before the start of the 2019-20 season, the Rockets are in no position to contend right now and would likely be willing to deal their veteran players for the right price.

Eric Gordon has consistently been one of the better offensive players for the Rockets year-in and year-out and is now in his fifth year with this organization. Up until last year, Gordon was extremely durable and played in almost every game for the Rockets.

Over the course of his career, he has averaged 16.6 points and has shot 42.5% from the floor and 36.9% from three-point range. After dealing with some injuries last season that kept him sidelined for most of the year, Eric Gordon has looked great to begin this season with the Houston Rockets and could be the role player the Grizzlies need to add on the wing to finally make a legit playoff push.

Eric Gordon is now in his 13th season in the NBA and has consistently been the same player year-in and year-out for any team that he is on. Whether it is in the starting lineup or coming off the bench, he knows his role with the team he is on and is a great “3-and-D” player in today’s game.

Being able to have a proven talent like Eric Gordon come off-the-bench or play in the starting rotation and be a leader for this young Memphis team could be extremely beneficial Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. develop, especially since they do not really have a veteran leader. Gordon knows what it takes to win and has made many deep playoff pushes in his career, which makes him a perfect fit for the Grizzlies.
