Why This Trade Would Benefit The Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors rotation is currently set up in an interesting way. They are a team that likes to shoot the ball from deep and play fast. Players like Oubre Jr. and Andrew Wiggins do not fit into that scheme. Most trades have featured Wiggins being the one sent away, but Oubre Jr. is another name that could be on the block.
The Warriors used the second pick in the draft on James Wiseman. He is off to a strong start early on in his career and it’s a nice frontcourt piece along with Draymond Green.
The Warriors expected to contend for a championship right away this season. The injury to Thompson definitely hurt their chances but this is still a team with one of the all-time great point guards. It is important to surround him with players like Andre Iguodala that fit into the scheme and can be leaders.
Andre Iguodala was extremely beneficial during his time in Golden State. As he plays out the final years of his career, he could do so in a place where he saw much success and grew as a fan favorite.
