Why This Trade Would Benefit The Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns have decided that they want to go forward right away. They made that clear when they acquired Chris Paul in the offseason. They were invited to the bubble last year and despite winning all eight games, missed out on a postseason spot. This is a team that is right on the cusp of contending and is looking like the real deal early on.
Aside from Paul, Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton are the young players who make up the core of this team. If they were to make this trade, they would just get more help for the future. Darius Garland is a point guard who can learn under Paul and be there long-term with Booker.
The Suns will also get a first-round pick and an intriguing wing prospect in Isaac Okoro in this deal, which is hard to pass up. It would hurt to part ways with Mikal Bridges but the return might be worth it in the long run.
Early on, the Suns are looking like a playoff team already. If they were to make a move or two prior to the deadline, they could solidify their spot and show people that they are here to stay moving forward.
