This Cavs-Suns trade features Cleveland going all-in on Mikal Bridges

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been rebuilding the franchise ever since LeBron James left for Los Angeles and they’ve shown real progress so far this NBA season. They have done so by adding some pieces in the backcourt but have some more work to do moving forward. They have many trade pieces so they could look to acquire assets for the future that would help them in their rebuild.

Collin Sexton and Darius Garland have looked like strong options at the guard position. Sexton is having an incredible season and has taken the next step on the offensive end of the floor. Cleveland has veteran big man, such as Andre Drummond and Kevin Love, who have been featured in trade rumors. They would not be on the move here, but the Cavaliers would get some pieces that would be around for the future.

The Phoenix Suns are the perfect trade partner for Cleveland. Phoenix made a big splash deal in the offseason when they acquired Chris Paul from the Oklahoma City Thunder. This was in hopes of building a team that could get to the postseason.

Devin Booker is one of the best scorers in the game but has been unable to reach the postseason by himself. The Suns made it clear that they want to build around Booker and give him a team that can compete in the Western Conference.

This is a deal that would work well for both sides as they try to accomplish their goals. Let’s see what it might take for a deal between Cleveland and Phoenix to get done prior to the NBA trade deadline.
