Trade No. 1 – Orlando Magic

Boston Celtics Receive: C Nikola Vucevic, F Terrence Ross, ORL 2025 1st Round Pick (Lottery Protected)

Orlando Magic Receive: G Kemba Walker, C Daniel Theis, G Romeo Langford, BOS 2021 1st Round Pick, BOS 2021 2nd Round Pick, BOS 2023 1st Round Pick

He last made the All-Star game during the 2018-19 season, but Nikola Vucevic is definitely on-track to be named an All-Star once again this year. The 30-year old center is undoubtedly the best player on the Magic’s roster and one of the better overall centers in the entire NBA.

One of the biggest needs for the Boston Celtics over the years has been in their frontcourt, as they have not had a reliable big man they could lean on. This offseason, they signed Tristan Thompson and he has been solid for them, but bringing in Nikola Vucevic would be a game-changer for this organization as they look to make it back to their first NBA Finals since 2010.

Getting both Nikola Vucevic and Terrence Ross would be an incredible move for the Celtics’ front-office and give them two extremely talented players to utilize in their championship pursuit. Both players are under contract too for three more seasons, giving the Celtics a high-level team for years to come.

This would be quite an investment by the Boston Celtics, as it would push them over the Luxury Tax Threshold and make it almost impossible to go out and sign high-level talents in free agency, but creating a rotation of Marcus Smart, Terrence Ross, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Nikola Vucevic would be hard to turn down.

That lineup right there is a championship lineup in its own right and with other key role players like Tristan Thompson, Jeff Teague, Grant Williams, Semi Ojeleye and rookie Payton Pritchard, the Celtics would have enough pieces to contend for a championship immediately.

The only question about this trade is if Orlando is willing to part with their All-Star center, Nikola Vucevic and if they would be getting enough value back in return for him. The Magic recently drafted Cole Anthony to be their point guard of the future and at 8-10 right now, they are very much in the mix to be a playoff team this season.

They will likely hold off on making any trades involving their top talents this season but come the offseason, Nikola Vucevic could be on the move, especially if Orlando fails to make the playoffs or gets booted in the first round again, which seems highly likely.
