Chicago Bulls interested in trade for Pelicans’ Lonzo Ball

The Chicago Bulls have been searching for a true franchise point guard since Derrick Rose left town. Coby White is currently manning the job, but he is not the ideal fit for the future. Could the Bulls look to acquire Lonzo Ball from the New Orleans Pelicans?

At this point in time, that is exactly what they seem interested in doing.

According to a report from Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Heavy, the Bulls are interested in trading for Ball. He would instantly give the franchise a new direction at the point guard position.

Plenty of other teams have interest in acquiring Ball as well, according to the report. All of the teams listed would be intriguing landing spots for Ball. For Chicago, however, this would be exactly what the doctor ordered.

So far this season, the Bulls have looked a bit better than in years past. They are currently 7-10 on the year. Chicago has a bright future ahead if they build their roster correctly.

Ball would likely not break the bank in a trade. The Bulls would have to move a piece or two, but they wouldn’t have to break up their main core.

In 12 games this season with the Pelicans, Lonzo Ball has averaged 12.0 points per game to go along with 4.7 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.3 steals. Ball has shot just 38.9 percent from the floor overall and has knocked down just 29.1 percent of his three-point attempts. Those shooting numbers aren’t where he would like them to be, but he is capable of improving.

Only time will tell whether or not the Bulls will make a move before the trade deadline. Ball would make sense, but they may not be able to acquire him.

Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding the Pelicans and Lonzo Ball. He seems to be available and the Bulls could very well make a push to acquire him.
