This Celtics-Knicks trade features Kemba Walker to New York

With Kemba Walker out to begin the NBA season, many believed the Celtics would struggle until he re-joined the lineup, but it was quite the opposite. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum carried Boston to an 8-3 record and they looked like one of the best teams in the NBA.

When Walker returned to the lineup though, Tatum was then out due to health and safety protocols and since his return, the Celtics are 1-3. Kemba has been one of the better overall point guards in the NBA for years now and was an All-Star for Boston last season, but if they continue to struggle with him in the lineup, could they look to trade the All-Star guard?

So far this season, in the limited amount of games he has played in, the Celtics have been very cautious with their approach to Kemba’s minutes, especially after recovering from an offseason knee procedure. He has not seen more than 29 minutes in a game this season, which is not good for the Celtics as they have one of the worst benches in the entire NBA.

Daniel Theis has been decent at times off-the-bench, but nobody else has really stepped up. Jeff Teague, Payton Pritchard, Javonte Green and Semi Ojeleye have all seen time virtually every game, but again, the Celtics do not receive much production from them. This organization is so reliant on their starting five that it could end up hurting their chances at contending for a championship.

Not to mention, their frontcourt is a disaster and is one of the worst in the NBA in terms of offensive production. Picking up a star frontcourt player and a key rotation player could be the best move for the Celtics if they were to trade Kemba Walker. With that being said, let’s take a look at a potential trade between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks involving All-Star guard, Kemba Walker.
