If you thought the Victor Oladipo rumors were over then you might be wrong. The Indiana Pacers ended the drama in their franchise when they sent Oladipo to the Houston Rockets. They decided to send James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets and immediately made a move for another NBA star. This makes one think that the Rockets have plans to extend Oladipo but if not, he could be traded once again.
Houston is in a clear rebuilding phase. They traded both James Harden and Russell Westbrook away recently. The team is 5-9 and near the bottom of the Western Conference. So far this season, Christian Wood and John Wall have led the way. Wood was a free agent signing that has worked out well. He is averaging 23.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per contest.
Wall looks back to normal with 18.6 points and 5.1 assists per game. Oladipo has been in Houston for three games and is scoring 22.3 points per game. The front office in Houston has a clear plan and it will be interesting to see if Oladipo is part of it.
If he is on the block, the Philadelphia 76ers are intriguing suitors. They currently sit at 11-5 and at the top of the Eastern Conference. This is mainly because of the play of Joel Embiid. In 13 games, Embiid is averaging 27.3 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. He is quickly becoming an MVP candidate with every performance.
Tobias Harris is another player who is looking like an all-star this season with 19.6 points per contest. The addition of Seth Curry and Danny Green have been welcomed additions as well to bring more out of Ben Simmons. This is a team that is finally ready to seriously compete and Oladipo could take them to another level.
This would be a move to shake things up in the Eastern Conference. Here is what it might take to land Oladipo in Philadelphia.
