Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Atlanta Hawks

You can never have too much talent on your roster in the NBA and regardless of position, acquiring Zach LaVine would do wonders for this Hawks team. At full strength, they are not only one of the best three-point shooting teams in the NBA, but they are already a high-scoring, offensive-minded team centered around Trae Young.

Adding LaVine to the mix only bolsters their firepower on the offensive end of the court and gives the Hawks a very dynamic one-two punch in Trae Young and Zach LaVine. Both of these guys are All-Star talents and paired up together, they could complement one another really well.

Both guys tend to push the ball in transition and are not really selfish players. Trae Young is one of the better assist-men in the entire NBA and LaVine has shown the ability to play off-the-ball at times. With Young calling the shots in Atlanta, LaVine could evolve into an all-around offensive playmaker and off-the-ball specialist.

While it may seem like giving up Reddish, a former first-round pick, and numerous draft picks is a lot, players like Zach LaVine do not hit the market too often and with the Hawks looking to do everything they can to make the playoffs for the first time with Trae Young, this move would make a lot of sense.

At full strength, this team would have: Trae Young, Zach LaVine, Danillo Gallinari, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Clint Capela, De’Andre Hunter, John Collins, Rajon Rondo and Kevin Huerter. Not only is that a really deep team, but an all-around fantastic offensive team who can definitely make some noise come playoff time.

Trading for Zach LaVine is a move the Atlanta Hawks must make, especially if they can keep guys like De’Andre Hunter and John Collins in the process.
