As of now, Jamal Murray runs the point guard position. Having him and Irving on the floor at the same time would allow one of them to play off the ball which will improve their shooting guard spot.
Murray is a big-time shooter and can get to the rim at will. This makes him a candidate to be an elite shooting guard for a championship team. Kyrie Irving will also open up Nikola Jokic even more than he already has been the season.
The Nuggets are a team that is right on the cusp of being a championship team. They already have their dynamic duo in place and could be assured if they get one more superstar to take them over the edge. They were a few better names out there than Irving.
