Trade No. 1 – Denver Nuggets

Denver Nuggets Receive: F Draymond Green

Golden State Warriors Receive: G Gary Harris, G P.J. Dozier, DEN 2022 1st Round Pick

Losing Jerami Grant definitely has hurt the Nuggets early on in the season and while the emergence of Michael Porter Jr. being their third high-level scorer is fantastic, it still seems like this team is missing something. Outside of Jokic, this team does not really have reliable options in the frontcourt, which is why Draymond Green could be a huge addition to this team.

JaMychal Green is not a traditional big man and Paul Millsap is not as productive as he once was, which is why trading for Green makes a lot of sense. He can be a secondary facilitator on the court for Denver when Jokic is in or out of the game and can really help them defensively, which is an area they have struggled in this season.

If Golden State was to trade Draymond, they would definitely want to be receiving young talent and production in return, which is what they get from Denver in this trade package. Gary Harris could be an excellent complementary player next to Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins moving forward, especially if they opt not to re-sign Kelly Oubre Jr. after this season.

Harris is in his seventh season with the Nuggets now and over the course of his career, he has been a really solid role player. He has averaged 12.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.2 steals and has shot 45.4% from the floor and 35.9% from three-point range in 382 career games in Denver. With the Warriors, Gary Harris could become a very reliable three-point threat and a great complementary player for a championship caliber team.

Much like how Harris could contribute immediately, so could P.J. Dozier, who is in his fourth NBA season. While he started his career bouncing around from team-to-team, Dozier has found a home in Denver and has turned into a very solid athletic role player for them.

His length and athleticism makes him a unique player at either guard spot and gives him an advantage over smaller and slower guards. Given the Warriors defensive-style of play and their pursuit of attacking in transition, Dozier could be a great second-unit addition for them.

Nothing about this trade is flashy for Golden State, but both Gary Harris and P.J. Dozier could be huge additions for the Warriors moving forward and aid them in their pursuit for more championships in the Steph Curry era. As could the first-round pick they receive, as this gives them more chances to draft high-level talent like James Wiseman.

Overall, this is one of the better trades the Warriors could get for Draymond Green and if they do decide to trade him, Denver could be an ideal landing spot for both teams.
