Why This Trade Would Benefit The Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers do not need any more help if they want to repeat as NBA champions. If it is available and on the table, then it certainly cannot hurt. The Lakers want to add a third star, then Victor Oladipo could be that player for the rest of the season.

This would be a short-term commitment given the fact that Oladipo is in the final year of his deal but the Lakers would have a decision to make next offseason. Looking at the rest of this year, it would help the Lakers greatly with LeBron James and Anthony Davis recently signing major extensions.

Teams have improved in the Eastern Conference, including Brooklyn and the Milwaukee Bucks. The Lakers are still burning favorites to win the championship but could really solidify their notion by adding another star.

Regardless, this is a team that is going to be difficult to be in a seven-game series. They would have to give up a few pieces for Oladipo which might lead to them re-signing him. It could be worth it for Los Angeles immediately.
