This is a trade that would kill two birds with one stone. The New Orleans Pelicans are looking to get younger during their rebuild while the Miami Heat is interested in adding some more pieces in hopes of winning an NBA championship. This is where the two sides could come together for a deal.
Miami is currently 6-7 on the season. Jimmy Butler has missed the last five games limiting him to just six of the season, where he is averaging 15.9 points per game. The Heat showed during the postseason last year that they are legitimate title contenders. Their roster is extremely well rounded but could use some more pieces. This is where the Pelicans would be perfect trade partners.
The Pelicans began their rebuild when they drafted Zion Williamson to team up with Brandon Ingram. They quickly sent Jrue Holiday to the Milwaukee Bucks at the beginning of the offseason.
Ingram signed a long-term extension and the plan was put into motion for the team moving forward. They still have a few veteran names that could be sent away. Lonzo Ball is another player who has recently been involved in NBA trade rumors.
It will be interesting to see where Lonzo Ball ends up. Here is a deal that could land him and JJ Redick in Miami to help the Heat contend.
