Boston Celtics Receive: C Nikola Vucevic

One of the biggest needs for the Boston Celtics over the years has been in their frontcourt, as they have not had a reliable big man they could lean on. This offseason, they signed Tristan Thompson and he has been solid for them, but bringing in Nikol Vucevic would be a game-changer for this organization as they look to make it back to their first NBA Finals since 2010.

While his contract would be tough for the Celtics to bring in, they could possibly make it work if they are willing to pay some taxes on this team to be a championship contender. Marcus Smart would definitely have to be on the move to make the money work in this deal, but bringing in an All-Star center could be what this team needs to win a championship.

With Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker at full strength for the Celtics, this team is already a championship caliber team and adding an All-Star center like Vucevic would make for a very intriguing 7-game series with the Nets, Bucks and even the 76ers.

It is no secret that the Boston Celtics have problems on their bench in terms of having lack of production, which could make them hesitant to give up any bench players in the first place, but getting the opportunity to acquire Vucevic may be too good of an opportunity to pass up on.

For Orlando, getting Marcus Smart and two young talents like Grant Williams and Robert Williams from the Celtics could be extremely beneficial. This team needs to rebuild and with Vucevic gone and Evan Fournier on an expiring contract, they would have everything they need to completely turn this franchise around.

Cole Anthony is the future point guard of this organization and with Marcus Smart and Terrence Ross next to him in the backcourt and guys like Aaron Gordon, Grant Williams, Robert Williams and Jonathan Isaac, when healthy, in the frontcourt, the Magic actually would  have a chance to be good. Not to mention, they would have some cap space to be able to go out in free agency and potentially bring in another star-level player.

In this trade with the Celtics, the Magic get a key contributor in Marcus Smart and a handful of draft picks. The only question that remains is if this would be enough for the Magic to deal Vucevic. Could they really turn things around with Smart and these draft picks/young talent they receive from the Celtics?
