Miami Heat Receive: D’Angelo Russell, Josh Okogie

Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: Kendrick Nunn, Precious Achiuwa, Andre Igoudala, Kelly Olynyk, 2025 1st Round Pick

D’Angelo Russell and Josh Okogie would immediately be inserted into the lineup for the Miami Heat. Okogie is scoring 6.2 points per game in six games for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He is a nice bench piece for some depth. The Heat are a team that has some assets to send away.

If they are able to keep Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson in any trade to add a star alongside Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, it is a win. Kendrick Nunn is the perfect trade piece to send away. It wouldn’t be easy to lose the sharpshooting impact that Robinson brings to the table but gaining more playmakers and shot creators is helpful.

Andre Igoudala and Kelly Olynyk are veteran players on short-term contracts that would be dumped by the Heat. Players and a first-round pick in 2025 might get it done for Miami.

Let’s take a closer look and see how this trade centered around D’Angelo Russell would help both the Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves.
